I’m often disheartened when I try to invent new words based on existing words only to realize there’s already a word for what I’m trying to define. My word just sounds dumb after that (and before too… I guess…).
Example:
-What I’m trying to define: “Something that has depth.”
-Existing word: “Depth”
(Cue thinking process… Ding!)
-My newly invented word: “Depthy!”
(Cue realization…)
-Already existing word: “Oh yeah… ‘Deep’”
Sigh… I have been robbed of so many potential words and opportunities to contribute to the English language…

hahahahah that is hilarious! A couple days ago I learned a new slang word. ‘SLOG’ means going to work very hard. I don’t know why it means that but I fear that I will come to detest this word.

Slog? Yeah, I already don’t like it. If “slog” gets to be a word, I think “depthy” should be given a chance too. Just sayin’.

[...] while you’re adding these to the dictionary, you might as well throw in “depthy.” You can never have enough synonyms for the word [...]
